Children’s announces formation of the Children’s Healthcare of Atlanta Pediatric Technology Center
Children’s and Georgia Tech are joining forces to form the Children’s Healthcare of Atlanta Pediatric Technology Center (PedTech). PedTech, located on the Georgia Tech campus, will be an important component of the Every Child Deserves Children’s strategy as we look for new ways to innovate pediatric care through high-impact research.
Children’s and Georgia Tech share a common interest in collaborative research that brings together clinicians from Children’s, academic scientists from Emory University, and through PedTech, engineers from Georgia Tech to solve important problems in pediatrics and develop technological solutions for improving the health of children.
“Together, we are changing the lives of kids,” said Donna Hyland, CEO. “The children of Georgia deserve the best possible care we can provide. Our combined expertise in clinical care, research and technology provides an extraordinary opportunity to solve problems that will help make kids better today and healthier tomorrow.”
The Pediatric Technology Center provides a forum for research, innovation and interdisciplinary collaboration in numerous locations across Georgia Tech’s campus, including in the new Engineered Biosystems Building. PedTech will provide national leadership in technology-based solutions for pediatrics, and it will help facilitate faster translation of new technology into clinical practice.
