Overview

Dr. Xu Ji is a health services researcher at the Aflac Cancer and Blood Disorders Center of Children's Healthcare of Atlanta (Children's) and the Department of Pediatrics at Emory University. Before joining Children's and Emory, Dr. Ji worked at the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention as a postdoctoral health economist for two years. She received her PhD in health services research and health policy, economics track, from Emory Rollins School of Public Health.

Dr. Ji’s research seeks to understand access to, quality of, and disparities in healthcare services for survivors of pediatric and adolescent/young adult (AYA) cancer. Her current projects focus on three specific areas: 1) healthcare system and policy issues affecting vulnerable cancer survivors, 2) social determinants of health in pediatric oncology, and 3) psychosocial challenges faced by patients with pediatric/AYA cancer and their families. The goal of Dr. Ji's research is to inform policies and clinical interventions designed to enhance equity and outcomes of pediatric and AYA cancer care. To achieve this goal, she employs a variety of research methodologies, including quantitative big data analytics, qualitative and survey methods for primary data collection, and mixed-methods research designs.
