Ahlia Sekkarie is a doctoral candidate in the Emory University, Laney Graduate School, Nutrition Health Sciences Program. Her research interests broadly include maternal and child nutrition with a focus on the early life origins of non-alcoholic fatty liver disease, the prevention of obesity and related metabolic disorders, and the measurement and distribution of body fat.


 

Albert Hernandez completed his Bachelor’s degree at University of California- Santa Barbara and a Post-baccalaureate at University of North Carolina- Greensboro. He has been a Clinical Research Coordinator with the research team since 2015.


Catherine Cioffi is a PhD candidate and Registered Dietitian in the Nutrition & Health Sciences Program at Emory University. Her research interests are broadly focused on inter-connections between diet quality, body composition, and cardiometabolic disease risk factors among children and adolescents.


Eduardo Castillo- Leon MD recieved his medical degree from University of San Martin de Porres, Peru. His current research project focuses on biomarkers of NAFLD progression, and lipidomics on NAFLD. 


Maria Cordero is part of the team of research coordinators in the Division of Pediatric Gastroenterology, Hepatology and Nutrition. She studied Neuroscience and Behavioral Biology at Emory University and has over 10 years in research experience.
