What are Emory Sponsored Accounts?

Emory sponsored accounts are temporary accounts provided to individuals outside the traditional Emory Community to work on authorized Emory business, academic, or research endeavors. These accounts provide access to Emory University IT systems and infrastructure that require Emory credentials, and these accounts are granted to individuals who have been sponsored by a regular Emory University faculty or staff member with appropriate oversight. Research staff or faculty at other institutions (e.g. Children's) may need an emory sponsored account when collaborating on research with Emory investigators and require an Emory NetID to access to systems such as Emory eIRB, Oncore, Docusign, etc.

Sponsored accounts will be given access for 12 months or less, after which the sponsor may renew the account before expiration. All expiration dates for sponsored accounts are set to the first day of the month of expiration. Warning letters are sent to the sponsor and the sponsored account holder on the first day of the month 30 days in advance of the expiration date. If the account is not renewed by the 1st of the following month, the account is disabled. Fifteen days later the account is de-provisioned
