Solomon F. Ofori-Acquah is Professor and Director of the West African Genetic Medicine Centre in the University of Ghana, Associate Professor of Medicine and Human Genetics in the Vascular Medicine Institute of the University of Pittsburgh and Member of the NHLBI Advisory Council. His research is focused on molecular pathogenesis, genomics, and novel therapeutics of sickle cell disease (SCD). He developed the first animal model of the acute chest syndrome of SCD and is Director of the largest SCD cohort study with over 7,000 patients in the international SickleGenAfrica Network of the H3Africa consortium. Today, he will present his seminar entited "Precision Therapeutics for Multisystem Heme Induced Tissue Injuries in Sickle Cell Disease"
