Dr. Zerra is an Assistant Professor of Pathology & Laboratory Medicine and Pediatrics. She completed her pediatric heme/onc fellowship at Emory in 2017, followed by a transfusion medicine fellowship in 2018. Her clinical time is divided between serving as the Assistant Medical Director of the Special Coagulation Lab at Emory University Hospital and covering the transfusion medicine as well as the inpatient pediatric hematology service. Her research lab focuses on the initiating immune events in the development of antibodies to blood-borne antigens, including red blood cells and factor VIII. She will present her seminar entitled "Characterizing the Immune Response to Factor VIII in Hemophilia A"
