Dr. Zakrzewski is a pediatric stem cell transplant physician-scientist. He was a research fellow at Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center (MSK) from 2004–2008, where he studied the immunology of allogeneic hematopoietic stem cell transplantation. Dr. Zakrzewski completed his residency in Pediatrics at SUNY Downstate Medical Center and his Clinical Fellowship in Pediatric Hematology/Oncology at MSK, before being appointed as an Assistant Member in the Department of Pediatrics at MSK from 2012–2017. He became an Associate Member at Hackensack Meridian Health’s Center for Discovery and Innovation (CDI) in 2018 and he has been an Attending Physician in Pediatric Stem Cell Transplantation at Hackensack University Medical Center since 2019. Dr. Zakrzewski is an Associate Professor of Pediatrics at Hackensack Meridian School of Medicine and an Associate Professor of Oncology at Georgetown University. His laboratory, funded by the National Cancer Institute, the American Cancer Society, Hyundai Hope on Wheels, and Alex’s Lemonade Stand Foundation, focuses on the development of novel immunotherapies for blood cancers.
