Boghuma Kabisen Titanji, MD, PhD, MSc, DTM&H, is a physician-scientist and Assistant Professor of Medicine at Emory University. Originally from Cameroon, she earned her medical degree from the University of Yaoundé I and later completed a master’s in Tropical Medicine and International Health, a Diploma in Tropical Medicine and Hygiene, and a PhD in Virology in the UK. She joined Emory in 2016, completing an Internal Medicine residency and a fellowship in Adult Infectious Diseases. Her research focuses on HIV, emerging infections, and global health equity. During the COVID-19 and Mpox outbreaks, she contributed to novel therapeutics and disease understanding. Dr. Titanji’s current work explores inflammation as a driver of cardiovascular disease in people with HIV. She is dedicated to strengthening research capacity in Africa and advocating for equitable healthcare solutions through science communication and policy engagement.
