The cores administrative team is thrilled to announce that the Biomarkers Core will re-launch as the Pediatric Metabolomics and Biomarkers Core. Under Dr. Joshua Chandler's leadership, the PMBC will offer multiple new services, including polytargeted metabolomics, isotope tracing, and high-resolution MS imaging. The new core and services are expected to begin operating in summer 2025.
However, much will remain the same: the core will continue to offer high quality quantification of established and in-development biomarkers critical to human health.
"The most important service we can provide researchers, whether we are measuring individual metabolites or tracing pathway activities, is to produce results that are easily interpretable into a broader biological framework," shares Dr. Chandler. "To do this, we will leverage the core's collective expertise in metabolism and advanced forms of mass spectrometry, and consult with researchers at every step of experimentation, from initial design to final analysis and results communication."
On behalf of all cores and users, we extend a huge thank you to Dr. Lou Ann Brown. Her leadership has steered the Biomarkers Core from inception through its success and scientific impact today. As Dr. Brown transitions from core leadership, the Biomarkers Core's Technical Director, Frank Harris, will stay on as a key member of the PMBC.
