As an airway microbiologist, Dr. Moustafa investigates host–pathogen interactions and how bacteria persist within the lungs of Cystic Fibrosis patients. Her research centers on developing clinically relevant animal models to support and advance the development of therapeutics and anti-infectives targeting Pseudomonas aeruginosa.
