Research
Dr. Neel’s research focuses on optimizing neurodevelopmental outcomes for preterm and high-risk infants. Her work examines how parenting style and parent–child interactions shape development, with an emphasis on early identification of at-risk dyads in the NICU and ultimately, targeted interventions. She also explores novel frameworks—such as positive adaptation and trajectory-based outcomes—to better characterize neurodevelopment, and contributes to multisite intervention trials and network follow-up cores.
