Heart Center–Pediatric Technology Center Collaborative Seed Grant Program (2026 RFA)

Now Accepting Letters of Intent

The Heart Center at Children's Healthcare of Atlanta and the Pediatric Technology Center at Georgia Tech invite collaborative proposals to develop innovative technologies, devices, and data-driven solutions that improve outcomes for children with heart disease.

Award Amount: Up to $100,000 direct costs
LOI Deadline: July 15, 2026
Project Start Date: January 1, 2027
Eligibility: CHOA/Emory faculty collaborating with Georgia Tech engineering or data science investigators

Full RFA

Applicants must:

  • Hold a primary faculty appointment at CHOA or Emory
  • Include active collaboration between:
    • At least one CHOA clinical investigator
    • At least one Emory or Georgia Tech engineering/data science investigator
  • Focus on pediatric cardiac health
  • Align with one or more scientific focus areas listed below

Scientific Focus Areas

Examples include:

  • Wearable and implantable monitoring technologies
  • Pediatric body surface mapping
  • Smart perioperative devices
  • Pediatric cardiovascular devices
  • 3D printing and patient-specific modeling
  • Home monitoring and remote care platforms
  • Biomaterials and device-tissue interface innovations
  • AI-assisted imaging analysis
  • Multi-modal data integration
  • AI-assisted wearable and device signal interpretation

Projects spanning multiple focus areas are encouraged.

Funding Details

  • Maximum award: $100,000 direct costs
  • No indirect costs (F&A)
  • Faculty salary support is not allowable
  • Project period: 12 months
  • Strong emphasis on future external funding opportunities and translational impact
