The below language may be used to describe the PMBC in NIH and other grants documentation. 

The Pediatric Metabolomics and Biomarkers Core (PMBC) is a centralized resource specializing in metabolomics, isotope tracing, metabolite quantification, and mass spectrometry imaging. Sample preparation, data acquisition, and data analysis are conducted by core personnel. Training is offered to users interested in sample preparation and data analysis. Core equipment includes the following:

  • Thermo Q Exactive High Field UHPLC-FTMS (orbitrap)
  • Thermo Quantis UHPLC-MS/MS (triple quadrupole)
  • Thermo ISQ 7000 GC-MS (single quadrupole)
  • Waters e2695 HPLC with 2489 UV and 2475 FL detectors
  • Waters e2695 HPLC with 2465 EC detector
