Retrieving Data and Leftover Samples

In order to make sure all clients are well served, the PMBC expects everyone to retrieve data backups and leftover samples in a timely manner.

  • Collected data is hosted by the PMBC for up to 12 months after initial upload. Afterward, it needs to be removed to clear space for other datasets. Therefore, have a plan in place to back up your data before it is removed. We recommend always making two backups of your data in case one of the backups fails. PMBC will work with users who need assistance with data backup.
  • The PMBC does not have infinite freezer space. Please provide us with well organized boxes of samples. We understand it may be advantageous to hold onto your samples while data are analyzed in case follow-up studies are needed. Therefore, plan to retrieve your samples from us no later than 12 months after receipt of the final bill for that project.
