CF Academy for Caregivers & Researchers

CF Academy is an annual continuing education program presented by the Emory+Children’s CF Center. It is designed to familiarize providers, nurses, social workers, and respiratory therapists with the pathophysiology and treatments for cystic fibrosis. As CF patients are not seen solely in their specialized clinics, the goal of this program is to improve knowledge of other healthcare workers and thus improve the quality of care CF patients receive. CF Academy is presented every fall and is eligible for continuing education units. The typical schedule includes a morning of informal didactics with question and answer sessions, followed by small group sessions focusing on particular aspects of CF care, including airway clearance, nutrition, adherence, and research.
